🇨🇴 Colombia Episode 23, filmed
What to order
The sweet corn arepa, the arepa peluda, pan de bono, and sancocho de cola (oxtail).
Drew's take
“I’m declaring the #1 spot to watch Colombia games for the World Cup is at Macondo Kitchen in Van Nuys. Incredible arepas and sancocho, and the friendliest staff.”
Drew Nagda, from the Colombia episode on Instagram
Episode 23, the second to last, in Van Nuys. Six TVs, Colombian flags on the walls, coffee flowing. Pan de bono, warm cheese bread shaped like a bagel. Arepas Drew calls literally out of this world: a sweet corn arepa folded around cheese, guacamole and meat, and the arepa peluda, a thick griddled corn cake piled with cheddar, a perfect cheese pull, 10 out of 10. Sancocho de cola, oxtail simmered for hours with plantain, yucca, potato and corn, which he calls the cure for everything. His declared number one spot to watch Colombia play.
