🇸🇳 Senegal Episode 20, filmed
What to order
Jollof rice and wollof, the two foundational West African rice dishes.
Drew's take
“Jollof is what people all over West Africa claim they do best. Long grain, tomato based, slow cooked, smoked at the bottom of the pan. Teranga means hospitality: feed the stranger before you ask their name.”
Drew Nagda, from the Senegal episode on Instagram
Episode 20, Senegal, in Lincoln Heights at chef Mo Saho's kitchen, named after the Wolof people who invented jollof rice 700 years ago. Drew's caption: we found the best jollof in LA. Ezra loved it, the first time either of them had eaten Senegalese food. The chef told them about thieboudienne, rice and fish, the national dish that takes three hours to cook.
