🇰🇷 South Korea Episode 6, filmed
What to order
Hojok galbi (soy glazed beef short rib), tteokbokki with octopus, truffle jjajangmyeon, and the Melona bar they bring instead of a dessert menu.
Drew's take
“Hojokban means food of the great people. One of the hottest new restaurants in LA. Modern Korean, sharing plates. At the end of the meal they don't bring you a dessert menu. They bring you a Melona bar.”
Drew Nagda, from the South Korea episode on Instagram
Episode 6, South Korea, in the Arts District. Hojok galbi, soy glazed beef short rib, the dish Drew says every Korean family gathers around; tteokbokki, the spicy rice cakes he calls chewy, spicy, addictive, here with octopus; and the truffle jjajangmyeon black bean noodles. Dessert is a Melona bar, the corner store ice cream from a Korean childhood, which is the whole idea of the place: take what you grew up on and make it beautiful.
